Giving is Living commenced at the start of 2010 and is a new initiative within the life of the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania. It has been designed to help people appreciate the relationship between discipleship and mission; between our weekly 'offering' and our response to God's mission in the world.
Giving is Living is important for the Synod. Important, because it says a lot about who we are— and what we value. Without it, many aspects of our lives together would not be funded. The dandelion in the logo symbolises the seeds of hope being sown through the work being done, in Christ's name, across Tasmania and Victoria. Individual and congregational giving plays a vital role in enabling the church to respond to God's mission in the world.
Giving is Living also enables people to catch a glimpse of some of the things that others, through faith, are attempting to bring to life. Giving represents self-sacrifice; it breaks the cycle of self-interest. Through giving, other lives are changed. This initiative is designed to not just awaken a spirit of generosity but tell the story of what generosity has already done and continues to do.
It is our hope that through this website you will be enriched and inspired by the activities that are made possible through the offerings people make—in response to the love of God.
