Chemical Management

ChemicalsMaterial Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Throughout Australia there is legislation regarding the provision of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s). The MSDS should be less than 5 years old, and contain information on safe work practices, personal protective equipment and clothing, safe storage and disposal.

The ChemAlert program is the Uniting Church’s primary source of chemical information and it is essential for managing chemical safety hazards.

The ChemAlert product search enables access to over 105,000 MSDS’s which may then be printed for use by the congregations.

To access the chemical database you will need to obtain a Username and Password and these may be obtained by contacting the Synod Safety Unit on (03) 9251 5225 or emailing  ohs@victas.uca.org.au

Also attached below is a password protected set of instructions relating to the use of ChemAlert3 and the password to this information may be obtained by emailing the OHS unit as above.
