Giving is Living helps people in the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania appreciate the relationship between discipleship and mission; between our weekly "offering" and the Church's involvement in God's mission in the world.
Giving is Living is important for the Synod; important because it says a lot about who we are — and what we value. Without it, many aspects of our lives together would not be funded. The dandelion in the logo symbolises the seeds of hope being sown through the work being done in Christ's name across Tasmania and Victoria.
Individual and congregational giving plays a vital role in enabling the church to respond to God's mission in the world.
Giving is Living also enables people to catch a glimpse of the life-giving things that others, through faith, are attempting to do. Giving represents self-sacrifice — it breaks the cycle of self-interest. Through giving, lives are changed. This initiative intends to not just awaken a spirit of generosity but also to tell the story of what ordinary people's generosity has already done and continues to do.
It is our hope that through this website you will be enriched and inspired by the activities that are made possible through the offerings people make — in response to the love of God.
