Annual Mission Grants

Each year the Synod gives grants to Uniting Church congregations, programs, agencies and other affiliated groups throughout Victoria and Tasmania.  These grants were previously under the oversight of the Board of Mission and Resourcing (BOMAR), and are now under the oversight of the Synod's Ministry and Mission Committee.

The Synod considers a number of grant programs:

Annual Grants for Mission Programs

This program is applicable to congregations, Parish Missions, Presbyteries, Uniting (Victoria and Tasmania) and ecumenical groups. The application forms and accompanying Mission Proposal Supporting Document are available in April each year. When applications have been completed, they are to be submitted via presbytery or Uniting (Victoria and Tasmania), as appropriate, to the Grants Administration Officer by 23 July 2018.  The proposals are considered by the relevant Committee in August and September, and applicants will be advised of the outcome in October prior to commencement of the grant in January 2019.

Annual Grants for Capital Works Programs

This program is applicable to congregations, Parish Missions, Presbyteries and Uniting (Victoria and Tasmania).  Grants are funded from 3 sources: Capital Works Fund, Heritage Buildings Fund (Victoria and Tasmania) and the Early Childhood Building Maintenance Relief Fund.  As noted for the Annual Grants for Mission Programs, the application forms and accompanying Mission Proposal Supporting Document are available in April each year.

Small Grants for Small Rural Congregations

This program is available to small rural congregations in townships of populations up to 2000 people.  The current application form and accompanying Small Rural Grant Guidelines document are available in April each year.  When applications have been completed, they are to be submitted via presbytery to the Grants Administration Officer by 16 July 2018. These applications are considered by the relevant Committee in August for funding to be distributed to successful applicants in October.
