Presbytery of Tasmania

Welcome to the Presbytery of Tasmania

 Stones and roots.JPG

"Following Christ, walking together as First and Second Peoples, seeking community, compassion and justice for all creation."

We are the people of the Uniting Church in the island state of Tasmania, Australia. We connect with fifty four congregations, eight aged care facilities, three Uniting Care welfare agencies and one school.

We work as disciples of Jesus, helping to build the Kingdom of God in this place.

Refresh Lay Leadership Conference

You are invited to hear Ian Robinson at this gathering:  Ian Robinson.png

Ian is a passionate man about sharing our faith.  He is keen to empower all sorts of people to engage in sharing their faith, with their words, in their own way, in their own space.  Ian has been in ministry in university chaplaincy, congregations, and now at UTC with the NSW/ACT Synod.  He has lived all over Australia, and beyond, has shared with people across many different backgrounds, faiths, and experiences of God.

Makes You Wonder was born from a group of people who began an intentional approach of one question each day for one year.  And took opportunities to talk with others around them about that question.  It was transformative in their capacity to share faith with those around them.

Makes You Wonder is a series of exercises, flexible and adaptable for your context in order for you to build confidence in how you might share your faith with those around you.  Ian will be offering a taster for all our Presbytery so that you can begin - or continue - in your journey of faith formation and sharing.
